With 40+ weapons for players to discover, purchase, and loot in Lies of P, there are a lot of different combinations to choose from and upgrade first.
There are about 40 Weapons for players to both find and mess around with while figuring out what in Gepetto's name is going on in Lies of P. The Weapon Assembly system this game adds to the Soulslike subgenre basically makes it so that players have hundreds of different combinations of handles and blades to try. However, only the blades can be 'upgraded' in the Xbox Game Pass icon that is Lies of P, and there are some blades that make a bigger impact when upgraded than others. Let's take a look at some of the best blades and overall weapons for Pinocchio to try out.
Updated July 26th, 2024 by Jacob Buchalter: It seems like every week these days, some new Soulslike game comes out. At the time of writing this, for example, Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn is brand new and another Soulslike called Deathbound is coming out in less than a week. Fans of the From Software games honestly have too many games to check out these days if they're looking for experiences that in any way mimic a From Software game experience. However, out of all the Soulslikes, Lies of P might come the closest to directly replicating this experience, to be more precise the experience most people had playing Bloodborne for the first time. Though, instead of Transforming Weapons, Lies of P has a system where players can combine weapons. So, to keep players informed on which weapons are the absolute best overall, let's take a look at the entire ensemble of deadly arms Pinocchio has access to.
16. All 'Boss Soul' Rare Ergo Weapons AKA The 'Remembrance' Weapons in Lies of P
First off, let's just get the Boss Weapons out of the way. When players meet Alidoro the Treasure Hunter and get him to come back to Hotel Krat, they'll unlock access to the Boss Weapons shop. Basically, by trading in a specific Rare Ergo to Alidoro, he'll give players the choice between an incredibly powerful amulet or an incredibly strong weapon in exchange. This tough decision is the game incentivizing players to try out NG+ after their first run, of course. These weapons can't be broken apart and mixed with other weapons, which is a bit of a shame, but they're all incredibly powerful as they're made from legendary people, constructs, and creatures. In fact, players can pick just about any of them and it should carry them through the game easily if they keep upgrading it. Let's take the Uroboross Eye, this weapon isn't unlocked until very late into the game, but once players have access to it they'll have access to a fantastic technique weapon with fast attacks, tons of damage, and even an overpowered ranged Fable Art.
15. Military Shovel
Fable Arts: Furious Spinning Slash & Alter
Starting things off with an oddball pick, let's talk about the Military Shovel. Now, by itself, this weapon is a lot of fun but it's not going to top the rankings of any tier list out there, regardless of how funny it is to use a shovel in a Soulslike. However, when we start talking about potential combinations with either the Military Shovel Blade or the Military Shovel Handle, that's when things get pretty ridiculous. For example, the Bone-Cutting Saw will be mentioned much higher on this list, but the Saw is also one of the best weapons to combine with the Military Shovel's Handle. When combined, it quite literally gives Pinocchio an absurdly large stick with a saw at the end that has fantastic damage, ridiculous reach, and a Fable Art (Alter) that both boosts its Attack and gives it even more reach. With this specific combination, players can literally experience entire fights against enemies and bosses from a safe distance, with the only danger being caught out while charging their heavy attacks or accidentally rebounding the weapon off of a nearby wall.
14. Spear Of Honor
Fable Arts: Killer Attack & Rush Swing
Moving on to another odd inclusion, the Spear of Honor. Now, compared to a lot of other weapons the blade of this weapon is a lot better than the handle. However the default blade and handle combination isn't bad, but the Spear of Honor Blade on something like the Greatsword of Fate Handle, the Dancer Curved Sword Handle, or the City Longspear Handle is absolutely incredible. Additionally both default Fable Arts on this thing are pretty good, not the best of the bunch, but both are pretty good in general. While this isn't the absolute strongest weapon in the game, the Spear of Honor should carry players through the majority of the game with little to no issue.
13. Live Puppet's Axe
Fable Arts: Killer Attack & Endure
Let's get both of the unique inclusions out of the way quickly, with the Live Puppet's Axe being another one that has a fantastic blade but a pretty situationally useful handle. The Live Puppet Axe's Blade is one of the hardest-hitting Blades in the game in exchange for a very slow attack speed and short range. So, if players put this blade on a pretty quick handle, even something like the Salamander Dagger Handle, the speed cancels each other out into a pretty decent attack speed. If players want to use the handle, just know that it's one of the slowest-swinging options in the game outside of maybe the Big Pipe Wrench Handle. But, if the attack hits, it hits incredibly hard. Additionally, it's worth noting that the Fable Art Endure is actually pretty useful if utilized correctly, as it gives the user a whole bunch of poise for around 8 seconds.
12. Bone Cutting Saw
Fable Arts: Link Chop & Endure
The Bone Cutting Saw seems to be one of the standout weapons of the game among the player base. It's a weapon that isn't found absurdly far into the game, but if players haven't heard the term 'Black Rabbit Brotherhood' in their playthrough yet, they probably have a ways to go still to obtain this thing. The reason the Bone Cutting Saw is on here, other than the fact that it just looks very Bloodborne-esque, is because the reach of this weapon is honestly ridiculous. Slap that blade on any other handle and it'll increase the attack range of said handle by (what feels like) a mile. The weakest part of this weapon is the Fable Arts, but if that's really bothering players they can simply move the blade to a handle with a Fable Art that's more their speed.
11. Salamander Dagger
Fable Arts: Ignite & Retreating Stab
Going right from one of the biggest weapons in Lies of P to one of the smallest (outside of maybe Pinocchio fighting with his fists), the Salamander Dagger is actually found pretty early in Pinocchio's adventure, and once it's found players will find that it's an incredibly handy weapon. There aren't a ton of weapon options in Lies of P for those gunning for an Advance build, but the Salamander Dagger is one of the best options by far. The sheer attack speed of this blade alone is worth praise, but even the handle works great with just about anything taped onto it. Again, like the Bone Cutting Saw, the Fable Arts aren't the best. Though, Ignite is just a general fire-damage buff so even if it's a bit boring visually it's still pretty handy.
9. Electric Coil Stick
Fable Arts: Generate & Rush Smash
Next up is a weapon players will be able to find very early on in Lies of P, the Electric Coil Stick. Elemental Damage is actually incredibly strong in this game (which primarily comes from the Advance stat) and this makes any weapon with innate elemental abilities highly sought after. The Electric Coil Stick is an especially useful find as the area it's obtained in is one completely infested with Puppets, who are extra weak to Electric Blitz damage.
8. Acidic Crystal Spear
Fable Arts: Radiate & Single Stab
Along the same train of thought as the Electric Coil Stick, the Acidic Crystal Spear is another great weapon to upgrade for elemental damage. This one deals a ton of Acid damage, which is useful as a way of dealing extra damage to both human enemies or any enemies that would fit into the 'other' category. But, as an added bonus compared to the Electric Coil Stick, the Acidic Crystal Spear has a ton of reach with its attacks. And, its Single Stab Fable Art is one of those Fable Arts that players can actually reliably use and not get immediately punished for during boss fights.
7. Black Steel Cutter
Fable Arts: Storm Slash & Guard Parry
At this point, players might be noticing a trend with the inclusions on this list as a lot of them are either Fire, Electric Blitz, or Acid-based. The Black Steel Cutter is a weapon that isn't found until the last big stretch of Lies of P, but as soon as players find it they'll want to upgrade the blade at the very least. While the moveset of the Black Steel Cutter Handle isn't the greatest, the Blade is fantastic and even comes with the Sword Slash Fable Art. When put onto a weapon with even a bit of reach, the Black Steel Cutter Blade almost immediately doubles this reach as well. Basically the Advance Scaling variant of the Bone Cutting Saw
6. Booster Glaive
Fable Arts: Storm Slash & Patient Slash
The Booster Glaive is another item players will be able to mess around with early on. It's found in Venigni's Workshop around the Workshop Union Culvert Stargazer (literally less than one hundred feet from the Salamander Dagger), in a chest just behind a gigantic Puppet of the Future. After players get it, they'll quickly see why it's so beloved by the Lies of P player base. One, the Charge Attack for the handle gives players this 'flame-boost swing' that looks great (and is very useful for closing the distance). Two, the Glaive's Greatsword Blade is a direct upgrade to the starting Greatsword of Fate. And three, the Fable Arts for both the Handle and Blade are great. In fact, one of the best Weapon Combinations in the game overall includes the Booster Glaive's Blade and the Krat Police Baton's Handle, so that should give players a hint as to this weapon's potential.
5. Coil Mjolnir
Fable Arts: Thunderstrike & Absolute Defense
Another weapon head that players won't receive until (unfortunately) the last chunk of the story in Lies of P is the Coil Mjolnir Head. This gigantic (and absurdly heavy) tenderizing hammer has a name referencing Thor's iconic hammer, and as such it has a Fable Art that calls down lighting. This Fable Art is attached to the Blade itself, so players can slap this hammerhead on any Handle and it'll be a weapon only for the 'worthy' that players can use to almost always keep the hammer infused with Electric Blitz damage. However, be careful, as the immense weight of this weapon means players will need to watch their Capacity or slap on a lighter Legion Arm as a last resort. In short, this is basically just an upgraded variant of the Electric Coil Stick.
4. Exploding Pickaxe
Fable Arts: Flamestrike & Conserve Energy
Funnily enough, for how much Technique weapons seem to outshine Motivity ones in Lies of P, there are a lot of Motivity-based (AKA Strength) blades on this list. As it turns out, putting these heavy weapon blades on any handle with fast attacks usually creates something pretty overpowered, which might explain these weighted results a bit more. The Exploding Pickaxe is another example of this, though it's also an example of a weapon where both the Handle and Blade are pretty much equally useful. The blade deals a ton of damage and also comes with one of the better Fable Arts in the game, Flamestrike, while the Handle is one of the rare pure Motivity-scaling handles with an attack pattern that's still relatively fast.
3. Big Pipe Wrench
Fable Arts: Patient Smash & Payback Swing
Finally, it's at the point in this list where it's time to talk about the giant wrench weapon in Lies of P. Not only is this oversized Wrench hilarious to use in this atmospherically dark game, but it's also an amazing weapon. Well, the 'blade' is at least, as the Big Pipe Wrench Handle is one of the all-time slowest handle options overall and should probably be avoided at all costs. But, tape that Big Pipe Wrench Head to something like the Krat Police Baton Handle, and players will be seeing some astronomically high damage numbers coming from their creation, as the Pipe Wrench trades its attack speed for a ton of damage per hit.
2. Circular Electric Chainsaw
Fable Arts: Condensing Slash & Endure
There are two chainsaw-type weapons in Lies of P, and oddly enough both of them are circular shaped instead of the typical 'elongated' rounded shape people are usually familiar with standard chainsaws. The Circular Electric Chainsaw Blade, unlike the other chainsaw options in this game, doesn't require a Rare Ergo to obtain. However, it's not found until players reach the merchant near the Cerasani Alley Stargazer and buy it from him, and he's found more than halfway through the game. But, once players obtain it, they'll have an electrical replacement for the Electric Coil Stick blade that, while heavier, certainly outputs more damage.
1. Bramble Curved Sword
Fable Arts: Storm Slash & Furious Slash
Last up is the Bramble Curved Sword which is, again, one of the rare Technique-based blades on here. Lies of P seems to be a game where Technique handles are best while Motivity blades are the most damaging. That said, the Bramble Curved Sword not only offers decent scaling by default in both Motivity and Technique, but it's also just the complete package. The blade comes with the incredible Fable Art Storm Slash and has a fantastic reach overall while the handle comes with Furious Slash and has these wide-reaching slashing Attack Type swings that work great regardless of the blade attached to it.
