Alien: Romulus marketing is ramping up, and a new cinema display has offered fans a closer look at the latest Xenomorph design. Alien vs. Predator Galaxy spread the word that a life-sized replica statue of the Xenomorph from Alien: Romulus (which goes by the nickname "Scorched") has appeared in the lobby of Regal Cinemas L.A. Live in Los Angeles, giving local cinemagoers a chance to study the structure and details of the new design. Alien vs. Predator Galaxy community member El Diablo made a trip down to Regal Cinemas L.A. Live in Los Angeles (where the #AlienRomulus #ScorchedXenomorph display is located) and sent us a bunch of pictures!

The account shared photographs of the Xenomorph statue, snapped by community member El Diablo. Alien fans praised the design shortly after the images surfaced online, with many recognizing that it has features reminiscent of bygone Xenomorphs in the film franchise, teasing interstellar terror like the good old days.

for nerds, this seems like a very slick integration of the designs from the first alien and aliens - the hands are very much aliens, for example, and so is the dome's color/more obvious ridge structure beneath. also bringing legacy fx back for the first time since aliens. https://t.co/8p76eqNynZ — Arthur Gies (probably?) It’s probably my favorite xenomorph design now. Mixing elements of the og, alien isolation, and avp designs. It also looks like it’s agile. Which is a HUGE plus ? — Primal ? ?? (@primal80124) July 16, 2024

Reminiscent of the original with the visible skull. It's perfect. — DJkdre #SBC24 #SaitaPro (@DJkdre) July 15, 2024

don't think we've seen that skull pattern in an Alien film since the original — Varun (@TheElusiveApe) July 15, 2024

It’s like a fusion of the original big chap and the cloned ones from Resurrection, but this one still having that bio-organic look, simply perfect — TribalTurtle?️??(COMMS OPEN) (@TribalTurtle_) July 15, 2024

Looks as though they’ve gone back to the original design as possible with the transparent head with the skull underneath. I reckon if the story is good on top of what we’ve seen this could save the Alien franchise for future instalments. — Fox (@ThEfOuRiNCHfOx) July 16, 2024

Alien: Romulus' trailers have hinted at a return to the franchise's roots, with the movie using practical effects for some of its Xenomorph creatures. Director Fede Álvarez also teased late last year that Ridley Scott, who helmed the original 1979 feature and its two prequels, said the new entry is "f**king great." The upcoming film takes place between Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986), but is its own contained story, one that, according to its synopsis, follows "a group of young people on a distant world" who "find themselves in a confrontation with the most terrifying life form in the universe," with Cailee Spaeny leading the cast. Alien: Romulus hits theaters August 16, 2024.
